One of Canada's largest FM stations will have prime time advertisements running over the next week for The Murdoch Mysteries.
If you live in Ontario and listen to CHFI you can hear the ads as follows:
Wednesday (tomorrow) with 10 sec ‘traffic tags’ – they read them during the drive-home time slot sometime between 4-7pm.
There will also be ads starting this Thursday during the morning drive-time sometime between 5-9am running until next Thursday.
Should be interesting to see if this brings more viewers to the show. The demographics of the ratings indicate that we are getting a lot of female viewers (wonder why eh?). CHFI has a primarily female audience, it plays easy rock and I would say the 30-50 age group would be the demographic.
So as a result of this campaign, my best guess is that they will take all the data over the next week to ten days and make a decision about renewal once this campaign is done and the show runs for two more weeks as they evaluate the results.
But that is strictly speculation on my part, I am not privy to all the behind the scenes stuff.
All I know is that the writers need to get going and probably need to know by mid March at the latest.
