It was the coldest day of our winter. Still it did not deter me from doing a study of shadows and reflections.

I was given an assignment to shoot images that have certain characteristics. Here is a sampling from about twenty five that I came up with for the assignment

My Irish Ancestry - the mystery solved
Two generations of my ancestors lived in the Swansea Bristol Massachusettes area. I just learned that this is right on the border of Rhode Island, hence the migration of my Great grandfather Augustus to Providence where he and Lillian (my great grandmother) had Russell senior ( my Dad's father). Now here is the most interesting tid bit. at the time (1800's) only 1% of the population was from Scotland, 15% from Ireland. So there is not doubt that my Dad's ancestry is Irish as many of the neighbours around the Pierce family were born in Ireland according to the Census. Pierce is my true family name, my bloodline. Ford is not my bloodline, not my family, just a name. My ancestry on my Dad's side is Pierce, I am Irish and most likely Irish Catholic. I am getting the ship records sent to me on a CD rom of all the immigrants who came over from Ireland between the late 1500's to the early 1800's. My family line came somewhere to America between the early 1600's to the mid 1700's. But often, other relatives would come over later, once the family was settled. I will try to link up the blanks once I get those records.
Last year I became enamoured with the music by the Irish band The Corrs. I could not explain it. I am a nut for their music. I have all their DVD's and all their music. It resonates with me for some reason. Try them, they blend the Irish sound with modern pop/rock. Sharon Corr's violin gives me the chills and Caroline Corr's drumming is the most amazing thing I have seen since Ginger Baker and John Bonham. Cannot explain it other than there is a resonance for me and I love their music. Three sisters and a brother form the band.
Maureen's ancestors came from County Mayo in Ireland on her mother's side.
I am trying to absorb all this, it is new. I always felt like and Iden Pierce, but now that I know more, I am embracing it with unbridled enthusiasm.

Please Mr. Union director, get it done!!!!
I have been sick with Norwalk Virus and very f..ing grumpy. Don't do sick well. And on top of that The Canadian Actors may go out on strike on Monday. I was at the producers office on Monday and they showed me the shooting schedule for the series. March 22'nd for prep, principal photography begins April 30th. Will it still go? We've only waited 3 years for this, what's a little more delay for 60 episodes. Maybe I will strangle somebody in the meantime, like the head of the Canadian actors union who seems a little more interested in conflict, not resoultion. Fingers crossed til Monday.
